Help Fund WMC Fest: Refer A Friend And Become A VIP!

Woah! If your friend donates at least $25 to the WMC Kickstarter project during its last week you both get weekend passes and VIP access!

WMC Kickstarter

Over the past few months Cleveland’s Weapons of Mass Creation Festival has been taking in donations on the popular crowd-sourcing site Kickstarter to help raise some of the necessary funds to put the event on. As of right now they’ve raised almost $2,000 of their $2,500 goal, but with Kickstarter it’s an all or nothing situation – meaning if WMC can’t raise that last $500 by April 15th none of the current donations can be accepted.

So for this last week, in an effort to clinch that final $500, the WMC staff is starting a new Refer a Friend Program. Meaning, if you refer your friend to WMC’s Kickstarter project and they donate $25 or more, you BOTH will not only get free weekend passes to the event, but VIP/Backstage access.

How does it work? Simple. You tell your friend how excited you are about the WMC Kickstarter project, they get equally excited and decide to donate at least $25 at the site  here. Then they show off their Refer a Friend status by tweeting “I just kicked @wmcfest thanks to @yourtwittername http://kck.st/ctTns0“. That way the folks at WMC will know who to give the Refer a Friend goodies to.

Think of it this way. Weekend passes to WMC are $25 on the website. Instead of you and your friend both spending the $25 each for your weekend passes, you could just suggest to your friend that they pledge their $25 to the Kickstarter instead and you’re both in and upgraded to the VIP section all weekend long. Now, doesn’t that feel good?

You probably haven’t forgotten about WMC Fest since reading my last post or constant stream of tweets, but just in case you’ve been living under a rock:

In May, a powerhouse of designers, artists, filmmakers, and musicians are getting together to put their work on display and to interact with the Cleveland community through performance, exhibition, and discussion. Hosted at the Go Media headquarters, an inspiring three-story warehouse studio on Lorain in Ohio City, think of WMC Fest as Cleveland’s answer to SXSW.
