It’s fitting that Parachute Journalists are opening up the band portion of WMC this weekend, seeing as 2/3 of the groups members make up the founding team of the festival itself. If there’s anyone who should bestow the honor of breaking in the Parish Hall stage on Saturday, it’s these guys.

Led by Adam Wagner on guitar/vox, Jeff Finley on drums, and Jeff Steinwachs on the bass, its clear that the newly formed trio are still getting their bearings, drawing on influences from Latterman to Bob Dylan. But, there’s promise in the songwriting and raw creativity at play  here.

The result is the skeleton of something truly promising to our Cleveland scene. Adam Wagner knows how to put pen to paper, a truth best seen in the lyrics of  “Ten Lives” – one of six tracks currently available on their free-download collection, the cheekily named Dang, Another Demo. With a handful of shows around town already under their belt, including a recurring stint at the Five O’Clock Lounge, WMC attendee’s don’t want to miss this opener.
